Toronto Music Camp is a unique summer music camp in where kids ages 8-16 come from around the world to play in a rock band, produce a music video, and rub elbows with some of this city’s most successful musicians. Under the guidance of our expert instructors from Elite Music Academy, our jam-packed weekly sessions let kids experience what it’s like to be a successful full-time musician. All instrument are welcome!

Star in a Music Video

Become a YouTube/Instagram Star

Many of our Rock Camp music videos have been shared thousands of times on our YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram channels. Some have even been shared by the original artists that we’ve covered. All week long, a professional videographer follows the Rock Camp kids’ journey from rehearsals to the recording studio and finally the stage. The final product is released online a few weeks after.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF ROCK CAMP

Early Monday morning, bands are formed by age and skill level. Daily rehearsals and recording sessions are balanced with outdoor recreation with the other bands from 9am to 4pm. Every Wednesday, a popular Toronto-based musician/band is invited to provide a workshop on band promotion, recording, or song-writing. For lunch break, kids can either eat their lunch from home at the park or go to a restaurant. On Friday morning, all bands come together to perform for each other and offer constructive criticism before the big show in the afternoon.

Perform Live ON STAGE

Every week, the camp experience ends with an energy-packed live show in Toronto. So parents, book your Friday afternoons off work and charge your video phone; this is a moment in your child’s life you’ll want to record and cherish forever.

Individualized Attention

Band sizes are limited to 5 kids, so your budding rock star is guaranteed individualized attention. We even provide a floating music instructor that visits each band daily to assist anyone in need of extra help with their musical parts.

COVER THE GREATS OR WRITE YOUR OWN TUNES

Rock campers can pick their favourite covers or write their own songs as a band. Our camp groups typically focus on classic and alternative rock like the Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Led Zepplin, The Beatles, Nirvana, and Red Hot Chili Peppers. You know, real rock! But we don’t limit ourselves – previous bands have dabbled in reggae, jazz, and even death metal

9am to 4pm daily, Monday to Friday. No early drop-offs or late pickups please!

FEES

1 week: $499; 2 weeks: $958, 3 weeks: $1422, 4 weeks: $1876, 5 weeks: $2320, 6 weeks: $2754

PREREQUISITES

campers must be between 8-16 and have completed one year of music lessons on either guitar, bass, sax, keyboards, drums or voice.



REFUNDS

No refunds will be offered after May 15th, 2020. However, you may change the week(s) you wish to attend provided there is availability for the week(s) requested.



WHAT TO WEAR

a cool outfit for recording and performance day. You’re going to be seen by thousands of people for years to come online!



WHAT TO BRING

Guitarists, saxophonists, and violinists must bring their own instruments and accessories. Drummers must bring their own drumsticks. Everyone must supply their own ear plugs. We provide the amps, keyboards, and mics. Don’t forget your lunch or lunch money! Kids 13+ will need TTC fair for transportation.



LOCATIONS

All campers meet at 2007 Danforth Ave on Monday, 9am sharp to be sorted into appropriate bands. Some bands will stay at this location while others are assigned to 822 Danforth Ave for the rest of the week. Parents will be noticed of the assigned location by noon. Campers will be transported by TTC by their instructor between locations.
