Dead Serious About Music?
|
If you are dead serious about music then there is no better place for you this summer than the Toronto Music Camp: the convergence of musical talents from different genres at the Holy Name Catholic School, at 690 Carlaw Ave, in Toronto.
A Henry Ford quotes says “I am not the smartest, but I am surrounded by competent people.” What he means to say is that one needs to be around the right people who know their business. If you are a musically inclined young person then you need to be in an environment that will encourage and help develop that skill in you.
A young musician should thrive in an environment of like-minded people where he can build his network of friends and mentors, and at the same time have fun in a musical culture.
One of American singer Donny Osmond's famous quotes read “Always surround yourself with people who are better than you. If you're hanging around bad people, they're going to start bringing you down...But, if you surround yourself with good people, they are going to be pulling you up.”
In reality, all self-help gurus say the same thing no matter which direction you want to take it: finances, acting, singing, real estate, etc. Napoleon Hill, considered the grandfather of self-help mentors, has devoted time studying and learning from successful people and advocates the same principle: be in a circle of successful people.
The Toronto Music Camp offers this community to young aspiring musicians. The camp offers a fun and encouraging environment for learning where mentors are passionate about music. In fact, even the Toronto Music Camp's photographer, David Leblanc, is a singer-songwriter for Dropjoys. Do checkout David's snapshots of the 2010 camp. If you want to start in the right path, then The Toronto Music Camp is definitely the place to be.
