Toronto Music Camp 2013
Toronto Music Camp (TMC) is a summer program run by Elite Music Academy for children and teens. The camp combines summer fun and sports with intensive musical training. The TMC offers three distinct programs: Rock Camp, Voice Camp, and Junior Camp. Each session at the camp lasts for a week, but many campers return for multiple sessions.
Each session includes daily composition and practice workshops taught by professional musicians who have experience as both teachers and performers. Campers spend the week working up to a final performance that Friday. At the beginning of each week, each camper's skill level will be assessed to ensure he or she is grouped with others of similar musical ability. Campers record their music in a professional studio on Thursday of every week to produce a CD they can take home at the end of camp. Each band also enjoys a professional photo shoot to create an album cover. The final Friday performance is video taped and can be streamed on our website, along with the studio recordings. The entire process gives aspiring musicians a condensed version of the real experience of being a musician.

The Rock Camp is open to musicians between the ages of 10 and 17. Guitarists, pianists, drummers, bassists, wind players and vocalists will practice with the groups that will become their bands for the week. They will receive individual as well as group instruction interspersed with theory and songwriting classes. Many young musicians who attended the rock camp in the past have gone on to become camp councilors and play in their original camp bands professionally around the Toronto area.
The Voice Camp offers a specialized program for singers ages 10 - 17 who want a more intensive kind of vocal study. The instructors at the Voice Camp will place qualified singers into groups according to skill level and vocal range. The singers alternate between singing lead and background harmonies. Each group will learn how to write songs and arrange vocal harmonies to suit its unique balance of voices.
Young campers ages 7 - 10 attend the Junior Camp to learn about making music in a group setting for the first time. They will explore sounds and instruments, engage in drum circles and group singing, and play musical games in the park. A child does not have to have any prior knowledge of music to attend this camp. Like all of the other camps, if the juniors are feeling up to performing at the Friday concert, they will also be video taped.
The Toronto Music Camp turns summer vacation into a fully-fledged musical experience.
